Railway Research and Development Institute is authorized by Ministry of Transport and Construction of the Slovak Republic (Decision No. 43748/2022/SŽDD/125402 , 19 December 2020) to perform the verification of the technical capability of railway vehicles, to carry out technical inspections of railway vehicles, to perform tests of railway vehicles – railways, tramways, special railways, including historical railway vehicles.
VVÚŽ Testing Laboratory is accredited, according the requirements of EN ISO/IEC 17025, by Slovak national accreditation authority (SNAS, Accreditation Certificate No. 222) to carry out tests of the railway system, its subsystems, elements, its parts and materials, tests of traction units, passenger and freight wagons, track machines, wagons for special purposes of railways, tram vehicles, railway superstructure and substructure, bridge structures and their parts, overhead lines, substations and switching stations, heavy-current equipment, telecommunication, communication, interlocking, measuring, control and transmission equipment, noise measurement of rolling stock, measurement of environmental and working noise according to the scope of accreditation specified in the Annex to this certificate – Annex to the certificate of accreditation No. S-222 SL VVÚŽ.
